What a start to our World Book Day celebrations today!

Such a buzz at our upper school Book Swap - we loved hearing students sharing new stories across the year groups, recommending and exchanging books.

We're now looking forward to whole school fun tomorrow, in recognition of WBD and International Women's Day this weekend: who will students choose to dress up as to represent their inspirational female literary character?

As we celebrate National Year of Reading, we look forward to sharing more recommended reads and celebrating literature..

Our Year 8 students had an incredible opportunity to watch Romeo and Juliet performed at the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.

What a production this year..we loved the modern, creative staging and audience interaction!

Thank you for enriching our students' understanding of Shakespeare's iconic play!

Well done Year 8 - super proud of you for being brilliant ambassadors for the school. We can't wait to discuss the play in more detail back at school!

This week we’re celebrating the power of stories and the strength of inspiring women!

Thursday 5 March – World Book Day

    • KS3 will take part in a special Book Project during Period 4 — a vibrant oracy session filled with discussion, creativity and a celebration of brilliant female authors and protagonists.
    • KS4 & KS5 can join our Book Swap at lunchtime in B9 — bring a teen fiction book and discover your next great read!
    • Friday 6 March – Inspirational Character Dress-Up Day. To mark International Women’s Day, students are invited to dress as an inspirational character from a book.

Think bold, brave, brilliant female leads who challenge, inspire and lead.

As an all-girls school, these events are especially meaningful — a chance to celebrate reading for pleasure and the powerful voices shaping our world.

We can’t wait to see your costumes and hear the literary conversations.
