Curriculum
Welcome from Ms J Foster - Deputy Headteacher, Curriculum
Our students feel extremely positive about studying at Enfield County Sixth Form. The school offers the benefits of highly qualified teachers and excellent pastoral support as well as specialist accommodation for this most important phase of a young person’s education.
A Level Studies
The school has a long experience of successful A level teaching and it is in the light of this experience that we have set entry requirements for students starting A level courses. Please contact us via ecsgeneral@enfieldcs.enfield.sch.uk for further information.
Vocational Qualifications
The school offers vocational qualifications alongside A level course. Please see our subject pages for full course details.
Studying at Enfield County Sixth Form
Post 16 courses are full-time. This represents 15 hours of lesson time with students completing 15 hours of homework, making 30 hours in total. Students also are supported with an hour a week extension time: pupils have supported silent study, study skills and enrichment activities. All students are expected to meet entry criteria for their courses for Year 12 and for Year 13. Please contact us for further information about Level 2 programmes which enable access to our level 3 provision.
A new feature of their education for all students will be having the independence to organise their own study time as well as having supervised study sessions and Extension Hours. The school has specialist study facilities in the Sixth Form area and the Study and Research Centre (SRC) as well as further support for any students who need help to organise their time effectively.
After the Sixth Form
Post 16 courses are an excellent preparation for university and work. Most of our students go on to university and the school has a specialist UCAS support to facilitate the application process.
