Careers Vision Statement

At Enfield County School for Girls we are committed in ensuring that all students are provided with the support, advice, guidance and opportunities to Careers at ECSfG Page2aid them with their future success. We aim to do this by planning a comprehensive Careers programme which incorporates Careers education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIEAG) and Work-Related learning (WRL). We believe that is crucial that high quality Careers education enables young people to make informed decisions about their futures.

The charitable Gatsby Foundation introduced 8 benchmarks for schools and colleges to use as framework to ensure that Careers education in educational establishments is of a high standard. We use the Gatsby Benchmarks Framework to guide the planning of our Careers programme. They are as follows:

  1. A Stable Careers Programme
  2. Learning from Career and Labour Market Information
  3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
  4. Linking curriculum learning to Careers
  5. Encounters with Employers and Employees
  6. Experiences of Workplaces
  7. Encounters of Further and Higher Education
  8. Personal Guidance

Are you passionate about inspiring younger students? Are you driven and ambitious about young people’s futures? 

At Enfield County School for Girls we really value the skills and attributes that our former students can offer our school community. We encourage each student who leaves our school to become part of our Alumni.

In addition to inspiring the next generation of Enfield County students, our alumni network builds and sustains our school education programme.

We wish to celebrate the success as well as learn and grow from the career journeys of our former students.

Enfield County School for Girls Provider Access Policy

Introduction

This sets out the school’s arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the school for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.

Pupil entitlement

All pupils in years 7-13 are entitled:

  • to find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships opportunities, as part of a careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options available at each transition point;
  • to hear from a range of local providers about the opportunities they offer, including technical education and apprenticeships – through options events, assemblies and group discussions and taster events;
  • to understand how to make applications for the full range of academic and technical courses.
