Y12 Maths - UCL Conference

Our lucky Year 12 maths students attended the University College London Schools and Colleges Conference: AI & Technology in Everyday Life, where they explored the growing impact of technology on society, education, and the future of work.
The girls took part in three engaging lectures delivered by academics and students at UCL. One session focused on self-driving cars and the exciting developments shaping the future of transport. Another explored how artificial intelligence is transforming universities and industries, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges created by rapid technological change.
The final lecture, delivered by a Master’s student, was particularly thought-provoking. Entitled 'The Digital Dilemma,' it examined the tension between technological progress and human well-being, encouraging students to reflect on how society can balance innovation with healthy and meaningful lives.
Following the lectures, the students enjoyed a guided campus tour, giving them a valuable insight into university life at UCL. The visit was an incredibly insightful and inspirational experience, providing a helpful introduction as students begin thinking ahead to the UCAS application process.
