What is Positive Change/who are we??

Positive Change is a group of students and a teacher, from Enfield County School, we are:

· Gema
· Zeena
· Chantell
· Sophie
· Christina

After learning about what happened in the Holocaust and what is still going on today, we want to make a positive difference to people who are living in severe poverty, abuse and persecution. We are setting up a charity based project to make students (and the community) more aware about world issues and to try and raise money to support individuals. We are going to be raising money to build a classroom in an undeveloped country, through Oxfam, as we all agree as a group that education should be a human right for everyone, no matter what your wealth, class or ethnic background, and a classroom could be used by generations to come.

We have four colours which represent our campaign, they are blue, orange, purple and brown, we picked these colours because they represent:

· Peace
· Unity
· Harmony
· Tranquillity
· Creativity
· Earth
· Stability

These are things that we want to achieve – with the help of the other students at Enfield County, and we hope that you think it is as worthwhile cause as we do.

What are we going to do to fundraise??

As a group, Positive Change, have come up with several ideas on how we could raise money to support individuals and communities who are living in severe poverty, abuse and persecution.

Here are some of the ideas we came up with:

· A non-school uniform day, where the students at Enfield County have to wear one of the charity colours,

· A dance-a-thon, which students would collect sponsorship money for competing in.

· A poetry competition, where the poems have to be about changing the future for the better.

· We are also going to make badges with the campaign colours and name on.

These events will raise awareness to the community about how Enfield County want to make a positive contribution, and would also raise money for the classroom we are going to fundraise to build with the help from Oxfam.
